Now that I understand the meaning of a Personal Learning Environment (PLE), I will be able to start contributing. Here is a website that helps to explain exactly what a PLE is defined as and has a short video describing how and why it can be used. A PLE will help learners control their learning, set goals, share ideas, and manage content. It will allow the learners to focus on his or her interests. For example: if I am interested in learning about Rapid Prototyping, but we only briefly discuss it in class, I can research, post information, and ask my peer reviewers questions to help me learn more about Rapid Prototyping. Esentially, I am taking ownership for my education and the PLE is helping to make it a more meaningful experience.

ReplyDeleteYes! A nice description of a PLE and how you can use it to (1) manage your learning and (2) expand you learning beyond what we discuss in class. A PLE is also useful to connect you to others who share similar interests.
